Charity Gala Features A “Moonlight Masquerade”
An evening of mystery and intrigue will greet guests of the “Moonlight Masquerade” during Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Foundation’s Third Annual Charity Gala. This year’s Charity Gala is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th, at the Larned Community Center.
The guests will start off with a social hour and hor d’oeuvres at 5:45 p.m. while bidding on an enticing array of over 80 silent auction items. Following the gourmet dinner, the live auction bidding will heat up while guests enjoy their scrumptious dessert. After the auction, the evening celebration is just getting started as “The Blades” of Salina, a nine piece horn band, take the stage for a night of great music and dancing.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the purchase of the new MRI at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital with the goal of paying off this vital piece of medical equipment by the end of this year. The wide-bore, short tube 1.5 Telsa MRI is now available at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, offering patients more service days and giving them a better experience during their scan. This means better healthcare for PVCH’s patients and the communities that PVCH serves.
“Our Foundation Gala Committee is made up of twenty exceptional ladies who have been working on this event since the first of the year,” commented Linda Henderson, Foundation Director. “Each year we challenge committee to bring the ‘wow’ to the event and they are certainly meeting that challenge. From the decorations to the entertainment, I guarantee this is one event you won’t find anywhere else in this area!”
Tickets for the Charity Gala are $100 per person and will go on sale September 11th. “Last year there was some confusion with individuals thinking they had to receive an invitation to attend,” stated Henderson. “That simply isn’t so. Anyone is welcome to attend the event and can purchase their seats at the PVCH Foundation Office at 923 Carroll Street, Larned. We do want to remind people that there is limited seating available and all reservations are made with payment.”
Another new feature of this year’s Charity Gala is that the Silent Auction will be opened up for advanced billing on Friday, October 23, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Larned Community Center. Anyone is welcome to come in at that time, receive their bid number and bid on any of the Silent Auction items on display. “Last year several individuals were strategic enough with their advance bidding that they were able to secure their auction items,” commented Henderson. “We want to make this event something that everyone can be a part of, and this is one way we can accomplish that.”
