Nuclear medicine is very unique because it offers information about the structure and the function of the heart, making it easier to diagnose heart disease in the earlier stages. Nuclear medicine uses very small amounts of radioactive materials to diagnose and treat diseases. The Cardiopulmonary Department does Cardiac Nuclear Stress Tests at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital. Sleep studies are another diagnostic tool that may be used by our cardiopulmonary rehab team. Sleep studies are covered by most insurance plans including Medicare. Phase III is also available for payment. Please have insurance information available when scheduling an appointment.
