3D Mammography for Accurate Detection
Our imaging team offers 3D mammography, the latest and most advanced breast imaging technology available. 3D mammography, which provides more detail than a traditional mammogram, takes multiple images, or x-rays, of breast tissue to recreate a three-dimensional picture of the breast.
Our 3D mammography can detect 20-65% more invasive cancers than a traditional mammogram. All women, especially those with dense breast tissue, should consider 3D mammography for their breast screening. Our 3D mammograms make it possible for radiologists to detect the difference between cancerous and noncancerous breast tissue, especially in women with dense breasts.
Screenings are quick and normally take only 10 to 15 minutes.
We’re able to offer this advanced technology thanks to the generous donations from our local community and the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Foundation. Together, they raised the funds in less than a year to purchase the equipment.
Screening mammograms can now be self-scheduled online using the patient portal. No order is required, but you will need to list the name of your provider in case any follow-up is needed.
