Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Celebrates New Nursing Leadership
Pawnee Valley Community Hospital (PVCH) continues to invest in strong, experienced clinical leadership by promoting two nurses – Kaitlyn Ochs, RN and Becky Lemuz, RN – into expanded leadership roles that support both patient care and hospital operations.
These promotions reflect PVCH’s commitment to building leadership from within and recognizing professionals who understand the needs of patients, families, and care teams throughout the community.
Kaitlyn Ochs Named Nurse Lead for Specialty Clinics
Kaitlyn Ochs has been promoted to nurse lead for Specialty Clinics at PVCH. She has served as a registered nurse at the hospital for the past four years and previously worked as outpatient nursing supervisor.
In her new role, Ochs oversees PVCH’s Specialty Clinics, including wound care, cardiology, pulmonology, and urology.
“I love that we offer so many services to our community,” Ochs said, noting that additional outreach services include the Pain Clinic, sleep services, and general surgery. “This encourages our patients to seek medical care close to home. Each provider truly cares about the well-being of their patients and families.”
She also highlighted the collaborative culture at PVCH, adding, “I also enjoy working at a hospital where teamwork is valued. Everyone is willing to help one another. The top priority is providing high-quality care.”
Ochs earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2017 from Fort Hays State University. Before joining PVCH, she worked at Gove County Medical Center and Salina Regional Health Center.
“Kaitlyn Ochs brings a strong clinical background to the position. She is also known for her compassion, which leads to her patient-centered approach. Her commitment to high-quality care and her strong work ethic demonstrate that she is well-suited for this position.”

Becky Lemuz Promoted to Nurse Lead for Perioperative and Special Services

Becky Lemuz, a Larned native, has been promoted to nurse lead for Perioperative Services, the Pain Clinic, and Special Nursing Services at PVCH.
“Our hospital offers such an inviting environment,” Lemuz said. “We have supportive supervisors and team members who genuinely care about their community. It is wonderful to be part of a team that offers excellent care to patients and their families.”
With more than 19 years of nursing experience, Lemuz has worked across a wide range of care settings, including psychiatric, acute, outpatient, emergency, and long-term care. She earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credentials in 2004 and an associate’s degree in nursing in 2005, both from Dodge City Community College.
Before joining PVCH approximately 18 months ago, Lemuz served as an RN unit leader and assistant director of nursing for the State Security Program at Larned State Hospital. She also served as a nurse at Edwards County Hospital.
“Becky Lemuz brings a strong background in nursing and leadership, as well as compassion for her patients. She treats each one as an individual and offers personalized care. She is a true leader who provides quality and compassionate care and treatment at PVCH.”
